Heidi L. Alvarez is an Associate Director at Florida International University (FIU) Technology Services, where she was responsible for

Networks.

Peter W. Arzberger is the Executive Director of the National Partnership for Advanced Computational Infrastructure.
He is also the Director of the National Biomedical Computation Resources, an NIH research resource. He is also involved with the
Long Term Ecological Research (LTER) community. As a former Executive Director of SDSC, he helped coordinate local computational biology
activities. He is a former Deputy NSF HPPC Coordinator, and program director of the Computational Biology Program in BIO and program
director of the Statistics and Probability program in MPS.

About: Julio E. Ibarra is Director of Grants and Acquisitions in the Florida
International University Technology Services Division, where he holds responsibility for the strategic planning and development of
advanced networking infrastructure and services for the University. Ibarra has been active in initiatives to advance networking and
Internet technologies for the State of Florida. He serves on the Governor’s IT Florida Task Force subcommittee on Infrastructure and
Technology Development as a subject matter expert. He is co-author of the policy recommendation for the development of a Network
Access Point (NAP) in South Florida to enhance the State’s eCommerce opportunities with Latin America.

About: Dr. S. Masoud Sadjadi received the BS degree in Hardware Engineering
from University of Tehran in 1995, the MS degree in Software Engineering
from Azad University of Tehran in 1999, and the PhD degree in Computer
Science from Michigan State University in 2004. He is currently an
assistant professor in the School of Computing and Information Sciences
at Florida International University. He is the Co-Director of the
Autonomic Computing Research Laboratory (ACRL,
http://acrl.cis.fiu.edu ), the leader of several projects under the
Latin American Grid (LA Grid, http://latinamericangrid.org), and one of
the Co-Founders of the Global CyberBridges (GCB,
http://cyberbridges.net ). He is also affiliated with the Research and
Education for Undergraduates (REU, http://www.cis.fiu.edu/reu) and the
Communication Virtual Machine (CVM, http://www.cis.fiu.edu/cvm)
projects at FIU. He has extensive experience in software development and
leading large scale software projects. Currently, he is leading several
international research projects in the Latin American Grid and is
co-chair of the program committee for IEEE ICNSC 2008. His current
research interests include Software Engineering, Distributed Systems,
and High-Performance Computing with the focus on Autonomic, Pervasive,
and Grid Computing. He is PI or Co-PI of 8 grants from NSF and IBM for
total of over $3.5 million. He is a member of the IEEE.
